Connect with Your Advisor
Connecting with your academic advisor at least once during a semester will help you stay on track toward earning your degree, prevent challenges with making last-minute class selections, and enable you to discuss progress and concerns.
Generally, using WSU’s online scheduling system is the most convenient way to schedule an appointment to connect with your advisor. Advisors can also often be reached by phone or email. If you have any questions, you are encouraged to contact the department for your major.
Who is my Advisor?
Your Academic Advisor’s information can be found in myWSU in the “Academic Advising” tile on the home page. Your advisor’s picture and their contact information will be on the page when you click into the tile. However, if no advisor information is listed, please contact the Academic Success and Career Center (ASCC) for further assistance.
Your Advisor Depends on Your Major
What degree and major you are pursuing will affect who your advisor will be. Every department has different methods for assigning your Academic Advisor, and sometimes changing majors in the same degree path can result in a change of Academic Advisor. If you plan to change majors, then you should meet with an advisor in your new degree path or connect with the appropriate advising center on your campus:
- Pullman: Drop-in academic and career advising with ASCC
- Vancouver: Who is my advisor at WSU Vancouver?
- Everett: Student advising at WSU Everett
- Global: Academic advising for Global Campus undergraduates
- Tri-Cities: Academic advising at WSU Tri-Cities
